Services

Optimal mental health is the goal, not just the absence of disease.

The body, mind, and environment operate as a whole – You can’t treat a symptom without addressing the root cause.

There is no bureaucratic phone tree when all you need to do is send me a simple email. I am reliable about returning calls or emails, sometimes immediately and always within 2 business days. I offer evening and weekend options to reduce intrusions into your calendar. All appointments are online.

I am the only person you speak with – there’s no secretary, scheduler, or billing department. I use detailed intake forms to gather information ahead of the initial appointment, so the appointment itself can be spent filling in the gaps, connecting with each other, and building trust.

Extra time allows me to review your history thoroughly, listen to your story without interrupting, and discuss treatment plans in detail. This allows me to provide higher quality care and enables you to feel heard and understood in a way you may never have felt before with your past providers.

This is a collaborative process, not paternalistic.

These are your life decisions, to be made with your goals, values, beliefs, and self-interests in the forefront.

I’m here to coach, support, educate, and empower. I’ll illuminate options you may not have known you had. I don’t decide what’s right for you in your unique circumstances; only you can do that.

Why would I invest my own money? I have insurance.

Most people run into the common problem of calling around and finding that no one is accepting new patients or waiting lists are several months long.

When people do meet with someone in-network, often they are limited to short appointments. There’s not enough time to explore symptoms in adequate detail. They may not feel like their doctor is able to listen and understand them. There isn’t enough time to fully understand how your medicine works.

Following up with someone in-network may require waiting up to 3 months between appointments and dose changes. If a new medicine doesn’t work, it’s hard to get an earlier appointment.

With me, you can schedule longer or more frequent appointments to explore your symptoms in detail. We will discuss multiple treatment options with pros and cons explained. I have the availability to meet multiple times in the first 3 months to maintain momentum. After each appointment, you can submit a ‘superbill’ to your insurance to request reimbursement for out-of-network services.

It is a greater financial investment, and you may get better faster.

You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical care will cost. Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services. You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees. Make sure your health care provider gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least 1 business day before your medical service or item. You can also ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service. If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate. For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises.

Please expect an investment of $1,300-2,100 (without psychotherapy) or $4,100-5,600 (with psychotherapy) for the first 3-4 months of treatment.

Initial consultation (60 minutes): $450
*Please note that depending on the complexity of your case, a follow up appointment or two may be needed to complete your assessment.

Follow up appointment (30 minutes): $225
Follow up appointment (45 minutes): $337.50
*Please note that follow up appointments for medication management are typically 30 minutes and appointments for medication management and/or psychotherapy are 45 minutes. In some cases, I may recommend scheduling a 45 minute appointment even if we are not doing psychotherapy to have more time to discuss complex issues regarding medications, but this is less common.

Clinical services provided between appointments (including but not limited to contact with family members or professional team members such as family doctors, therapists, and academic administrations; prior authorizations; letters or forms; transfer of records; requests for more extensive review of outside medical records) are billed at the rate of $75 per 10 minute increment.
